Biography

Dr. Allen Shen is Chief of the Rhinology Division in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Kuang Tien General Hospital. He is a seasoned otolaryngologist and rhinology specialist with extensive experience in advanced endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery. Dr. Shen received his medical degree from Taipei Medical University and completed his otolaryngology residency at Kuang Tien General Hospital. In 2007, he pursued an advanced rhinology fellowship in Adelaide, Australia, under the mentorship of Professor Peter-John Wormald, focusing on endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery and anatomy.

Dr. Shen maintains a strong clinical and academic interest in endoscopic sinonasal and nasopharyngeal anatomy, advanced and revision endoscopic sinus surgery, and surgical field control. He is also a principal contributor to the development of the Taiwan Smell Identification Test, an office-based olfactory screening tool.

As an active educator in anatomical education and surgical training, Dr. Shen is Course Director and faculty member for advanced endoscopic sinus surgery courses at IRCAD-Taiwan and other regional training programs. He is a frequent invited lecturer and anatomy instructor at rhinology masterclasses and hands-on dissection courses across Asia. His clinical and academic work has been disseminated through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international meetings.
