Biography

Dr. Liang-Chun Shih is Chief of the Division of Allergy and Immunology in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at China Medical University Hospital and holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the same university. He is also Attending Physician at Asia University Hospital.


Dr. Shih earned his medical degree from China Medical University in 2008 and completed his PhD at the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences, China Medical University in 2022. He undertook residency training in otorhinolaryngology–head and neck surgery at China Medical University Hospital from 2010 to 2015 and pursued advanced fellowship training as Visiting Scholar in the Division of Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine from 2016 to 2017. In 2023, he obtained Da Vinci Robotic Surgery certification at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.


Dr. Shih’s clinical subspecialties include allergy and immunology, rhinology (endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery), functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty, and robotic surgery for obstructive sleep apnea. 


Dr. Shih’s research focuses on allergic rhinitis, chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps, empty nose syndrome, nasopharyngeal cancer, oral cancer, and sleep apnea. He has authored 62 publications, with 32 as first or corresponding author. From 2020 to 2022, he is Editor of The Journal of Taiwan Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
